Another full roof replacement completed in Brighouse, West Yorkshire.
When we first inspected the property, the roof had been leaking for several years. Unfortunately, the problem had been left long enough for water to penetrate beneath the roof covering and cause significant damage to the timberwork below.
Once the existing tiles and roofing materials were removed, we found areas of rotten and water-damaged timber. Rather than carrying out another temporary repair, the roof needed to be stripped back and properly rebuilt to provide a reliable long-term solution.
What We Did
- Removed all existing roof tiles and old roofing materials
- Inspected the roof timbers once the structure was fully exposed
- Cut out and replaced rotten and water-damaged timber
- Prepared and strengthened the roof structure ready for the new covering
- Installed a new breathable roofing membrane
- Fitted new treated timber battens throughout the roof
- Installed new dark grey roof tiles
- Completed the ridge, verge and valley details
- Checked the completed roof to ensure it was secure and fully watertight
- Removed all old roofing materials and waste, leaving the property clean and tidy
The Finished Roof
This project involved more than simply replacing the old tiles. By stripping the roof back completely, we were able to identify and replace the damaged timberwork before installing the new roofing system.
The property now has a solid, watertight roof with new membrane, battens and tiles, providing a much more reliable and long-lasting solution to the leaks that had affected the property for several years.
